In 1985, after 16 years of relentless searching, legendary treasure hunter Mel Fisher and his team finally found her. "Today's the day," he had said every morning for sixteen years. This genuine 8 Reales Spanish cob coin — minted at Potosí under Assayer Q between 1613 and 1616 — was aboard the Atocha when she went down. It rested on the ocean floor for over three and a half centuries before being recovered, authenticated, and set in a handmade 14k gold bezel crafted in the Florida Keys. Grade 2.
