IT'S TIME FOR A BUG HUNT!

A "Bug Hunt" doesn't mean chasing after a roach with a shoe.  In "Keys Terminology" it means to catch lobster.  Our lobsters are different from the traditional lobsters you see in nautical decorations.  The Key's lobster is the spiny lobster.  Unlike the Maine lobster, it doesn't have claws.

MINI SEASON

What is mini season?  Mini season is a 2 day season that is held on the very last Wednesday and Thursday of July.  The mini season is really a sort of sneak preview of regular lobster season which starts on August 6th and ends March 31st.  For more details about mini season and to view the rules and regulations please check out the Florida Fish and Wildlife website.
