The Seiko Limited Edition Blue Lagoon Turtle Dive SRPB11
A Seiko Turtle that Celebrates the Water
It has been a little over a year since the first round of Seiko turtle watches came out. If you are new to Seiko Dive watches, the turtle is the nickname for a beloved vintage Seiko Dive watch. Seiko has improved the design and put in a modern movement the 4R36. Since the launch of the turtle Seiko USA has five different colored turtle watches. That is a lot of colors for one year. The Seiko Turtle has had a huge demand so who could blame them for making so much variations. To learn more about the Turtle check out my blog post on the History of the Seiko Dive Turtle. As you can see, you really can't get too much of a good thing when it is a classic.
A Trip to the Blue Lagoon
After going through the classic dive watch colors, Black, Blue, Red and Blue, the Blue Lagoon color gives us a nice intense blue. The new blue lagoon color feels a little like the PADI turtle SRPA21 but is a little more of the Seiko world time blue SSC489. While comparison to both of these would be fair, in truth the light blue with the bright blue give us a new feeling of something we haven't really seen before. The different blues give us the feeling of the ocean, something very cool.
SRPB11 Seiko Turtle Better Than Ever
When getting a Seiko dive turtle watch one of the biggest choices you have is what kind of band will you use? Silicone? Metal? Nato? The nice part of the Limited Edition SRPB11 is that you get a metal stainless steel band and a silicone rubber band. This just gives you another level of fun with the watch.
Limited Edition
While other Turtles might be a special edition, the SRPB11 is an actual limited edition. This means that there are only so many of these and once they are gone, they are gone. Special Editions are often classified as that because they are only around for a certain amount of time, let's say a few years. A Seiko Limited Edition is around until the limited number of watches sell out. The SRPB11 Seiko Turtle is the match for the SRPB09 Seiko Samurai. Both are Seiko dive watches and follow the great tradition of Seiko Dive watches. The hardest part about the Blue Lagoon series is figuring out which watch to get, the samurai or the turtle?
