Who is King?
The King term is used for an upgraded Seiko Prospex watch. Fans of Seikos often come up with unusual nicknames. Some are understandable like Turtle and Tuna others are hard to imagine where they came from like Sumo and Monster. King is an easy term to understand. King is the ruler.
It began with a Turtle
The King upgrade started early 2020 with the King Turtle. The Seiko Turtle is probably the most iconic of all Seiko dive watches, so it was a good place to start. The upgrades were so great they tried it on another popular design, the Seiko Samurai.
The Seiko King Samurai
The Seiko Samurai is already a fantastic watch. The 4R35 movement is a real workhorse. The Samurai itself is a work of art with all of it's sharp edged design. The King Samuari takes all of this and upgrades it. What are the upgrades, well just what all of you, die hard Seiko fans wanted. The upgrades include a sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel insert. These new elements create an even better watch.
The King Samurai has arrived!
Seiko has included three new watches with the King features.
The SRPE33 King Samurai is part of Seiko's Save the Ocean Series. It features a rich textured blue that gets darker as you go from the center. The watch features swimming manta rays. It features a black ceramic bezel insert. The band is a traditional three link bracelet.
SRPE35 King Samurai features a black dial with gold tone accents on the hands and markers It features a black ceramic bezel insert. The band is a traditional three link bracelet.
Samurai features a white dial and black ceramic insert. The band also is a traditional styled rubber strap. SRPE37
